Quickly Shutdown Vista

You know that sleep button on the Windows Vista start menu that you don't use? You know, the one that puts your computer in sleep mode instead of shutting it down? Well, there is a way to make it shutdown your PC, instead of the useless sleep function.

Step one - Open Power Options

By far one of the hardest steps, move your cursor over to start, click, then head over to the "Control Panel" and double click the "Power Options" icon. Phew.

Step two - Plan Settings

Once on the power options control panel applet, click on the "Change plan settings" link under the plan you want to change the button's action on.

Step three - Advanced Power Settings

Another hard step, click the "Change advanced power settings" link.

Step four - Change The Button's Action

You can now select what you want the button to do. Oh look! You can make it shut down!

Now your Windows Vista start menu will look like this, and the button will now shut down your PC. :)
