Yesterday (WordPress decided to fuck with my scheduled post) marks 2 years of being with A Small Orange Software, my site's host. I've enjoyed brilliant service, and can safely say that A Small Orange is the best host around, despite the totally awesome and ridiculous name. Because I'm stupid, I've reinstalled Mint several times so can't deliver statistics about how much traffic my spaghetti-coded PHP apps have received since January the 17th 2007, but from now on I'm promising myself to keep my two installations of Mint for both alanedwardes.com and aelabs.net going, despite the development and hopefully a June (this year) release of SimpleStats, a new hosted statistics platform I'm writing.
My old-school IM Web Status Image generator has received some well deserved attention from me. I've completely rewritten it, using the coolio PHP5 function json_decode() to decode the WL Presence API data, and I've made it so that the site accepts a &mkt=<language> GET value per user request, so stuff like icon.alanedwardes.com/wlmtxt2/2ef500a9235b4b06&mkt=fr now works. On-site documentation for that pending.
